3 Styles for Eyeglass Wearing Gals

Hello loves,

I'm here today to share to you some styling tips when you're wearing your eyeglasses. Let's face it, not everyone has 20-20 eyesight. Most people think that wearing glasses make it difficult to wear a variety of outfits since they have to consider their glasses as part of their outfit. I read somewhere that 57% of people have glasses or contact lenses. With that high percentage, you'd think that girls with glasses are all over the place and have already mastered the art of styling clothes with their glasses. But, that's not really the case at times.

I would constantly read about girls having self-esteem issues because they have eyeglasses and I find that rather disappointing. Personally, I love people who wear glasses. I find their choice of frame or the size of their eyeglasses to be a reflection of their personality. I'm especially fond of big vintage style eyeglasses. I want to promote the use of eyeglasses and letting you guys know that there are brands, like Warby Parker, that lets you have clear eyesight without forsaking your style. Don't worry guys, all the sets I've used in this post will be linked to its respective Polyvore page so you can see the products that I've included.
Fray Me + "Roland" of Warby Parker Spring 2017 Collection
The first set I've put together is partnered with a very retro clubmaster style of eyeglasses that I'm very fond of these days. I've been fond of this kind of style since it makes you look interesting as well as a good frame for your face. This kind of eyeglass style, I thought, would look good with the fashion trend of frayed or distressed pant bottoms. Partner that with an off-shoulder top that's nice and flowing and you'll give off a classic understated feel to your look. Some people might partner that kind of style with flats or something basic but I thought having an interesting patterned boots would fit more to the style that I wanted to give off.

If you're curious about the glasses, it's a piece from Warby Parker's new collection. The eyeglass is called Caspar and it looks like this up close.

The next set I made has a more edgy style to it. The theme for this is "bad girl going out for the weekend" kind of vibe. Bad girls are usually portrayed with strong looks and usually they don't wear glasses but I don't think that's the case. There are some bad ass girls out there that wear eyeglasses. The set I made has the basics like leather jackets, thigh high boots, and the in-trend accessory right now-- chokers.

What I want to focus on though and the piece that I used as the main point of this look is the skirt. When I saw this skirt, I knew it'll be the main piece. I love how sexy it is with one side of it having the illusion of a strap yet it doesn't look too racy as a whole. It just gives the illusion of sexy, which I'm really into these days. The eyeglasses that I saw in Warby Parker that fit this style is this piece called Rose. It's sexy and different but it still has a silhouette of a classic eyeglass.

Bad Girls Need Day Offs Too! + "Rose" of Warby Parker Spring 2017 Collection

Last, but definitely not the least of the sets I've made, is a set for romantics. If you're Filipino, you'll call this the "lola" style or the gradma style since it plays around with the more traditional silhouettes and the length of the dress I chose wasn't a mini or mid-thigh length. To be honest with you guys, I love styles like these as well. I'm a bit of a chameleon in terms of my general style but I love classic silhouettes and long length skirts. I find them convenient, comfortable, and easy to style.

I thought that for a style like this, accessories should be practical and should be more focused on small details rather than having big statement pieces. So, I thought a couple of cute pins and a watch that's of the same palette as your shoes would look good in an outfit like the one in my set. Also, if you notice, the bag I chose also has small details like the cat ears on it. Small details like that, in my opinion, make an outfit standout.
Chill, Lady + "Moore" of Warby Parker Spring 2017 Collection
As you can see, I chose a bigger frame for this look since it goes well with the whole look. I've sported this kind of glasses before and I absolutely love them. I have a tendency to not like glasses that have small frames since I hate seeing the sides of the frames. It, apparently, breaks my focus when I'm doing something and I notice my glasses' frames.

I think I'll end this post here. I think it's too long now and I've already edited this to make it shorter. I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I would also like to thank Warby Parker for giving me a sneak peek of their Spring 2017 collection. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the new styles and it gave me an idea on what to get for my new pair since I lost my eyeglasses during my holiday trip. If you guys want to see more of their glasses, you can head on to Warby Parker's website or comment down below so I can make a different post about it. xx

Back To School

Hello loves,

School has officially started in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and I'm keeping my thoughts positive with my classes. I have just finished my first class for the day and I'm on a 3-hr break, waiting for my next class. This year, I'm doing things a little different because I'm no longer in a relationship. That ship has sailed and left me. Being single, in school, and having too much time in my hands is quite daunting. I don't know what to do with my time that was previously occupied with making my relationships work. I thought, maybe I should go back to blogging. So, here I am.

As you guys know, being back to school is all fun... up until the first 2 weeks. After that, things tend to get busy and you'll be in over your head with homework, projects, and in my case, thesis. In this post, I'm gonna list 3 things that I think would help you get through this semester.

If you guys don't know it yet or if you're new to my blog, I'm in a creatives course. I live and breathe stationery products like you won't believe. I really believe in writing in a journal, dabbling in typography, and using any kind of paper I can get my hands on to create something. I find being able to voice out your thoughts in a way that won't disrupt or cause harm to others, a sort of therapy when you're feeling stressed or burnt out.

Another thing that helps me get through my semesters is finding inspirations and pegs from magazines, blogs, music, and just about anything you're exposed to in your environment. On some times, you can even venture out and try to look for things that can inspire you to do your school works. One of the things I like to do is to buy magazines that are an issue back or so. I would then look for ads or maybe quotes from the articles that inspire me or makes me want to do projects similar to it. I find local magazines that have the same aesthetic as I do to be quite pleasing. It also makes a good wall collage decoration.

Last and definitely not the least, I believe veteran college students know this, coffee. Coffee is the holy grail for people that live off on caffeine when they're doing a lot of homework or projects. I can't even tell you guys how many times I've lived off on coffee, energy drinks, and power naps of 1-2 hours during midterms or finals week. If you're not a coffee person, I find exercise to be a good way to keep energized in a full day's worth of tasks. But since I'm not an early riser and more of a night owl, I tend to skip on the exercise and focus on the coffee.

It isn't a joke when people say sleep, as an adult, is a luxury. You really don't have the time to take 2-3 hours of napping when you're out juggling one errand to another. So, if there are freshmen or younger students reading this post right now... I suggest you enjoy your free time doing everything you want to do like travelling on the weekends, eating out with friends, or just sleeping 8-10 hours a day. It really is something you'll miss once you get to your major course subjects and thesis period.

I hope I've helped you guys in any way I can. Also, I started this post during my 3 hour break earlier today and I'm finishing this during my free time at my last class. It's almost 9pm and I'm ready to go home. So, thank you guys for being in my blog and I hope you read some of my other content. xx

Day Off

I sometimes wonder how some people can manage to look fashionable even if they have a full day's worth of errands to run. I mean, if you know me personally, you'd know that I am the laziest person when it comes to dressing up and trying to look good on a daily basis. I can dress up and look good, maybe once or twice a week? Never more. I also don't like it when so much things are going on in my outfit. I tend to keep things simple and comfortable.

That's why I made this outfit inspiration post for you, loves. I want to share to you guys the type of outfit I'd wear if it was my day off and I was out in a park, enjoying the cold weather, and not caring about anything. As you can see, I chose to put a basic tee and partnered it with a coat since I don't tend to like girly tops when I'm on my day off. To offset the laid-back style, I chose heels instead of my usual flats since I like to upgrade certain styles like that. It makes the look go from sloppy casual to femme fetale on a day off.

As for accessories and the ever faithful bag, I chose to have a coherent palette. I matched the bag's color to the color of the pizza and made sure it sticks to a more warm tone. I know that winter usually entails subdued colors or cooler tones but I just love it when you add a bit of warmth to a cold and dreary place. The accessories on the other hand, I used the same palette as the shoes. It gives it a low-key elegance to the usual casual look. Black baseball cap, black watch, and a black choker to tone down the look.

So, what do you guys think?

After The Holi-daze

Hello loves,

In just a few days, we'll be back to our regular lives. We'll be back to droning on and on about our responsibilities and what we want to do on our next vacation. I, for one, am going back to school in a few days. I'm both excited and scared to go back to school. It'll be a time for homework, for projects, for outrageously demanding professors. I really don't want to go back yet. So, I made a fashion inspiration post and a sort of guide on what to wear during your busiest days.

Dresses from StyleWe

I have been in love with maxi skirts and dresses ever since I realized that it made me look taller and slimmer. It was also a plus that when you're wearing maxi dresses, it's so cool and comfortable. It's a fashionable ensemble that can make even cheap accessories look elegant, which is always something a fashionista on a budget is looking for. I've read some articles about mixing and matching high quality outfits with accessories that are cheaper, and most of them say that it's not really about the brands you were but how you wear them.

Jumpsuits from StyleWe

Another outfit that I'm quite fond of these days are jumpsuits. They're so easy to wear, to navigate around, and they can make even the most lazy person look put together. I mean, how can you possibly look bad in an outfit that was made to match? Also, I love how you have so many options because there are so many different types of jumpsuits out there. You can wear something as simple as a plain white tee matched with a basic jumpsuit to something more outgoing like a sexy white jumpsuit. There's really no limit as to what you can do with a jumpsuit and you can be sure to feel comfortable the entire day when you're wearing one. I'm particularly in love with some new maxi dresses I got during Christmas from my aunt and a cute jumpsuit that I can't wait to wear outside.

How about you guys?
