Glam Nails & Skin Spa

Look at my pretty nails! In all fairness to myself, my over-all look in this photo is wonderful. Don't you think so too? I was rather inspired that day and I really wanted to try out this new nail and skin salon near La Salle. If you're from the La Salle-Taft area, you might have seen a new nail salon in Castro street like I did. It's called Glam Nails & Skin Spa and it's one of six branches all over the Philippines.

To make a long story short, my friends and I decided to try out the salon and got our nails done. It was a little time for some R&R and quality time with my friends. Actually, a day before I got a manicure, I already went ahead and got myself a pedicure just to try the salon out. I liked their service and decided I should get a manicure on the following day with my friends.

You can faintly see my manicure but here's a closer look of my nails. I was actually really excited with the design since I thought about it the other day and I really wanted something unique. What do you guys think of the design?

I had the nail polish alternated from silver and black orchid plus I made my middle finger's nail into a red cross nail art. It turned out quite well don't you think? My friend think it's scary/creepy but... I don't know. I kind of dig the whole thing. Did I mention it looks goddamn awesome? Hahahaha! Tell me what you think, is it a yay or a nay?

Product Review: 5-in-1 Ultrasonic Atomizer

I don't know if I mentioned this to you guys but Mia Maison, a home fragrances retailer, contacted me and asked if I wanted to try out their 5-in-1 atomizer. If you guys didn't know, I've already made a product review of their aroma diffuser [read it here] and I loved it. It was a no brainer and I instantly said yes to the product review.

I got their 5-in-1 atomizer around 2 weeks ago and I only had the opportunity to blog about it today. First, I want to say thank you to Mark Aranas of Mia Maison for having faith and trust on my blog and for giving me the atomizer sample for this product review. Secondly, I want to tell you guys that this is not a paid post and I really used the product for one week, extensively. I don't want you guys to think that I am in anyway persuaded or in a more layman's term "bullshitting" you with this product review. I really made it a point to try out and exhaust all possible ways to use the product sample Mia Maison have given me. Third, I'm not here to sell this product to you guys. I'm just a regular person who had the opportunity to use this product and shared my thoughts about it on my blog. So, let's get on with the review!

[BP] Week-end Vacay at Monte Vista, Laguna

Hey lovies! I've got another back post! I just wanted to share to you guys some of the photos and the place where we stayed during this week-end vacation that I had with my cousins, aunts and grandparents. I won't talk much and just show you guys the photos.

Monte Vista Resort, located in Laguna, is a great place for week-end vacations or getaways. It's not that far from Manila but you can still relax and unwind. It offers therapeutic pools that are just divine and soothing. As you can see, they also have billiard tables and other amenities like a court and other arcade games.

The room we stayed in was a dorm type room that's good for 8-15 people. The room's amenities  include beds that are bunk beds, with air conditioning, and a good TV. Of course there's a bathroom in the room and they also have enough sockets for everyone. Not to mention that the staff and people working in the resort are lovely.

That's what the resort looks like. I know, I've got shabby photography skills but, yeah. The tables are included when you've rented a room or if you've already paid the entrance fee to the resort.

This is my cousin, Junice. She's the owner of the DSLR camera that I'm using in this post. All of the photos are taken by me and hopefully, I'm doing a good job with them, right?

Lastly, this is my aunt that invited me to come with their little vacation. Thanks Teeths!

Staple Food: Korean Ramen/Ramyeon

Ramyeon or the Korean Ramen is currently my staple food. I am addicted to these stuff, to the point that I eat it at least once a week or more sometimes even going to the extreme of eating only ramyeon for a whole day. I just can't get enough of this stuff. I'm not an all out spicy food fan but I'm totally digging ramyeons right now. Actually, I'm craving for one right now. xx

[BP] Week-end Vacay Look # 2

I'm back with the regular program loves! Today, I'll be showing you guys my second look for the week-end vacation that me and my cousins went to a few months back. I know, it's super late but hey... better late than never right? I also really wanted to share to you guys how I look during vacation or when I don't have access to my closet. I think a lot of you know how frustrating it can be to bring clothes that sacrifice being fashionable just because you're on a vacation. It's so hard to bring your whole closet just to look perfect in 2-3 days vacation. It's just too hassling and not to mention expensive if you're taking an airplane somewhere and exceed the baggage weight. Right?

Top/LL Bean. Bottom/DIY Shorts. Bag/Landmark. Slippers/Ipanema. Accessories/Greenhills.
I think it's really important to have a good bag with you wherever you go. If you guys know me way before my blog and way before college, you'd know I would say something different. If you guys didn't know, I'm totally a non-bag user. I just hated wearing bags whenever I go out. It was just too much of a hassle but now, I can't get enough of them!

I usually decide which bag to bring depending on the number of days I'll be out. You have to consider a lot of things when you pack your bag and I think one of the most important thing you need to consider is the time. In this vacation it was just a week-end, meaning a Saturday morning to Sunday evening trip, so I didn't need that much clothes. As you can see, my bag isn't too big but it's also not too small that I can't fit 2-3 sets of clothes in it plus some make-up.

Another thing I usually consider is the flexibility of the accessories I'm going to wear. Sometimes, I choose my outfits to pack depending on the accessories I want to bring on the trip. You need to decide on what kind of accessories you'll bring on certain trips. For example, you can't bring metal accessories when you're going to the beach because the salinity of the water and in the air will ruin your accessories on the long run. I usually bring more organic accessories when I go to the beach or a place where there's a possibility of my accessories getting wet.

I'll end my post here. Thanks guys for reading! I'd love to know or see how you dress up during week-end vacations. You can leave your links below and I'll make sure to check them all out later. Hope I helped you in some way and if I did, I'd love to hear from you! xx

[Back Post] Week-end Vacay Look # 1

Hey lovies! Haven't done this in a while so, I thought I'd share to you some of the posts I should've made while I was gone. I hope you all have been well while I was out of the whole blogosphere for a few days. I've got tons of things to tell you guys but I'll start posting about that later on. First, I'm going to share to you guys some week-end outfits that I wore a few months back then a photo diary of that week-end. Sounds good? Great!
Forgive my overly exposed photo. The sun was out rather harshly and my cousin couldn't fix the camera's setting. We're amateurs like that, you know? Hahahaha! Anyway, this was taken on one of the private pools that we checked out that day. It was great but too pricey for a group of 8 people. I am totally in love with my cover up although you can't see it properly in the photo, it's really nice. Seeing this photo made me miss my hair color a lot. Ahh. I definitely need to get my hair colored soon.

Here's somewhat a clearer version of my look. I'm totally dresses down in this photo. I just realized that my top and my cover up has the same pattern. Well, that's nice. I got my cover up in Greenhills while my top was bought in a thrift store. Actually, each piece of clothing that I'm wearing costs below 300 pesos (or around 7-8USD). I think the only thing that costs a lot is my slippers. I bought them in Ipanema while I was in Singapore a few years back.

And I'll end my post here with a derpy photo of myself. I tied my hair in a cute but weird way. Any who, I hope you guys are well! xx

Sunnies in Fall

The Philippines being a tropical country usually only have dry season and wet season. There’s no fall, spring or winter season, which is such a shame really since it would’ve been awesome to rock different outfits for different seasons. Not to mention, getting new sets of clothes every season. It’ll be exciting for any fashion loving girl, right? I’ve been exceptionally fond of sunglasses, especially these retro glasses, and I think they’re just perfect for any type of season.

I’ll show you guys some awesome outfit inspirations that’ll go well with sunnies even during the fall season.  From the sweet and romantic fashionista to the rock and roll goddesses that read this blog, I'll try to give you a good set or two. Sounds good?
Up Is Where We Go From Here
This set would look great with the first sunglasses, don't you think? I mixed soft textured pieces with hard and bold prints that gives it great personality. It's a great outfit for abnormal weather patterns that's usually happening during the fall season. It's not too hot but suddenly it becomes cold. So, why not wear a super cute wool sweater? What do you think of this look?
Glittery Leather

Here's my feeble attempt to make a rock and roll themed set. I know, it's a little weak and very amateur but I do love the contrast of a hard and intense leather jacket with a feminine and very disco glittery short shorts. Isn't just so comfy? But of course, we can't have too much comfort so I added to the set one mean pair of stiletto heels. They're lovely right? It fits the second sunnies well right? It gives off a rock and roll vibe but still
very fun and girly.

I'll  be ending my post here. I hope you loves enjoyed this post. xx

Buying Contact Lenses Online

Have you guys ever seen advertisements of contact lenses online and wonder to yourself, is this safe? I know I have. I really want to buy contact lenses but I’m a bit apprehensive since my mother doesn’t want me to own contact lenses. However, I am really considering on buying one in the near future. I think I’ll buy contact lenses online so, I did a few research and I wanted to share them to you guys.

Price
One thing that I know for sure is that the price of a pair of contact lenses, especially those with grade, is a bit pricey. But price isn’t everything, as some people would say; you have to look for quality contact lenses even if it costs more. You don’t want to ruin your eyes because you wanted it to be pretty. It’ll be really ironic right?

Shipping
As you guys should know, I’m all about free shipping or getting the least expensive shipping possible. So, when you’re looking for an online contact lens retailer, you have to remember that you need to check if it ships to your country or city. Even if you find a good place to buy contact lenses but the shipping is pricier than the actual product, then that beats the purpose of getting the contact lens at a cheaper price online. Right?

Feedback
People often forget that feedback from previous customers is important when buying online. If an online retailer has more positive feedback, the more secure you’ll feel when you’re buying from them. Right? Well, that’s how I feel.

Stock
Of course, there are some technicalities like making sure you’d inquire about the product you want to buy to make sure that there is an available stock. Let’s face it, even if the retailer’s great as well as their terms and what-not but they don’t have a stock for the item you want then it’s pretty useless.

Trust
There’s a level of trust that only a few online stores have so I really suggest for you guys to do some research about the store and make sure that you can trust the online retail shop you’re checking out. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Don’t you think?

I’ll end my post here and I hope I’ve helped you guys in any way and do expect to see more post in a few. xx

Foodie Log: Zark's Burgers

Hey loves! Last August 22, my mum and I went to a great burger place near my school. As you know, I'm a Pescetarian and I no longer eat meat or poultry but I just couldn't say No to this place. I've been craving for bacon and hot wings for a long time that I think I've actually cried once just thinking about it's goodness. I know, me eating meat was a sign of my lack of condition but... it's not bad to give in once in a while. Right?

I think you guys will understand why I gave in to the temptation of eating meat when you see the burger I ate. It was just marvelous. If you've seen my previous post talking about me giving in, then you've seen what my mother ate in Zark's Burgers. Actually, it was my mom who really wanted to eat in Zark's. It was her idea and she's been craving for Zark's since June or March when it was featured in a TV Magazine show. She keeps on telling me that we should eat there or that we should ask our friends out and eat there. I just couldn't say No to her and those awesome burgers. As you can see below, she's loving the size of the burgers in Zark's. Imagine, that burger is part of their minor league or their "smaller" serving. Crazy, right?

Zark's Burgers in Taft is located on the same building as Yellow Cab and Army Navy. It's on the second floor and to my delight, as well as most of its patrons, they've gotten a bigger place. I remember before, when I was still a first year student in La Salle, Zark's only had a small place that allowed around 15-20 people inside. Usually during their Jawbreaker fest or when they have their yearly discount on their burgers, the place would be jam packed with customers. Not to mention, the long line of people waiting for an opening inside or just to order a take-out. Sometimes, Zark's would even only accept those who reserved beforehand for seats. They're that in demand and that's how much people love their burgers.

The photo above is the burger I ate when my mum and I are at Zark's. She's a beaut, isn't she? Imagine a quarter pound patty with tomato, lettuce and cheese sandwiched in two soft buns then wrapped in strips of bacon then deep fried to goody perfection. I know, it could kill me. I totally regret nothing! For the 6 months that I've craved for beat and controlled my craving, this was worth all the pain and growling stomach. I don't think I'll eat meat for a while or ever again for that matter. Maybe, another 6 months or so?

I swear to you guys, I don't think my stomach can handle meat anymore. I remember, after eating the burger, I felt heavy, sleepy, and not to mention my stomach practically killed me with indigestion. It was just not a great post-Nirvana feeling but again, I'd do it all over again. No doubt about it but only after 6 months. Hahaha!

Look at my smile! Haha! I look like a really giddy customer, which I really am. I have to tell you guys though that if you want to order the burger I ate, you have to wait for quite a while since it really takes time to cook it but if you're going for their normal burgers or their regularly ordered burgers, the wait isn't that long. Just make sure to allot 15-20 minutes of waiting time. You can't go to Zark's and not enjoy, neigh savor, the meal fully because if you do that, I will freaking cut you. Hahaha! I kid.

But seriously, the best way to experience Zark's Burgers is to savor it and eat at your own pace. Unless you're going for their 5-minute challenge, then I suggest you eat like it's the last meal you'll even eat. Hahaha! If you're just going to eat Tombstone or Jawbreaker, their multi-patty burgers of goodness and greatness, I suggest you share it with a friend or lover or if you think you're that hungry... be my guest! Finish the whole monstrous burger! Haha! My mum and I plan on eating that the next time we'll eat in Zark's.

Another tip I'd like to share to you guys when you're eating in Zark's is, bring perfumes or anything to put on you after you've eaten in Zark's because I'm telling you now that the smell of burgers and fries will stick to your clothes. So, I suggest either wear something comfy and then change after or bring a perfume/cologne to pacify the scent of burgers. It's your call. Lastly, if you don't want to smell like burgers and don't mind eating elsewhere, just order a take out and eat it in a place you prefer. That's the best thing you can do.

If you're wondering the price of their burgers, it's about 150-500+ pesos (or about 4-12 USD). It's pricey if you're a prude/on-a-budget student like me but it's totally worth your money. You can't eat at Zark's everyday because you'd probably die after a term or two. Or maybe, you'll end up penniless after a week of eating at Zark's non-stop. However, it's great for those splurge days where you just want to eat something good or worth its price. Or maybe, your rich friend decides to treat you to a meal. Hahaha!

I think I'll end my post here and I hope you guys liked this post. I'm thinking of making foodie log posts about the restaurants and food places near my school. I'll make a list of great places to eat after I've eaten on most parts of the area. I do hope you'll anticipate that! xx

Pescetarian Living: First Slip Up

Hey you guys! As you know, I've recently become a Pescetarian and I've been strict with my no-meat diet for a good 6 months. Unfortunately, I had my first slip up last August 22 because of a burger joint near my school. I loved this burger joint, I think I still do now. I've said that I would never eat meat anymore, I could even control the craving of not eating meat during buffets, but I could never say "No" to this burger joint.

If you're from the Taft area, or the schools near it, you probably know what burger joint I'm talking about. It's Zark's Burgers and they have the most meanest and badass burgers I've ever seen. The photo below was my mom's order. It's one of their minor league burgers which is more affordable and not to mention smaller in comparison to their major league burgers.

I know what you're thinking, yes. Yes, you've read it correctly. That is a smaller version of their famous burgers. I'll show you guys what their usual burgers look like on my foodie log post that I'll be doing soon. So, you better watch out for that. I'll end my post here since I just wanted to tell you guys about my diet slip up. I really didn't like the fact that I ate meat and I couldn't control myself when it comes to Zark's but I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say that I didn't like it.

Don't worry though. I didn't give up on being a Pescetarian. I continued eating vegetables and seafood the next day because my stomach curled after I ate my burger at Zark's. I guess I wasn't used to the taste and composition of meat that I had a bad reaction to it. I think one of the things that I really don't like whenever I used to eat meat before was the heavy feeling you'll get after eating. You feel sluggish, wasted and to some extent, dizzy. I don't know if it's just me or maybe some of you guys experience it too, I'm just not used to meat anymore.

I think I'm going to be a Pescetarian on the long run. I just know it. I can feel it in my bones, deep inside my soul, at the very core of my existence, I don't want to eat meat.

Cirque du Soleil: Saltimbanco

Hey hey lovies! Last August 17, my parents and I went to Cirque du Soleil's second performance in the Philippines called Saltimbanco. Last year, I didn't have the chance to watch their first performance here and I was really happy that this time around I had the opportunity to watch their performance. It was all thanks to my step-dad's perks from Globe Platinum. We got to watch Saltimbanco courtesy of Globe Platinum's balcony seats.

I was actually really shocked since I really didn't expect Globe to give out tickets to Saltimbanco since the tickets were really pricey but I was more shocked that Globe has it's own suite in SM Arena. Although it's not front row seats, it's still pretty good seats and not to mention they serve badass dishes there. I also like that they're very private and you still get a good view of the show. I wonder if Globe can give us tickets to Big Bang's concert in October?

We were this far to the stage. It's not father than the General Admission tickets but it wasn't as near as the Lower Box seats or the Front Row seats. The show was, as expected, marvelous. They had mimes, muscle shows, trapeze, and a lot more performances that made us hold our breaths. I think my favorite part was the trapeze and the cute mime that keeps on dragging the audience to the performance. It was just amazeballs.

I'll end my post here. I really didn't have photos of the show since it was prohibited but at least I got some photos with my mom's Samsung Note. As for my look for that day, I'll think about it if I'm going to post it here. I don't really think it's that post worthy though since I just wore jeans, basic top and on open toe flat. It's really simple.

New Hairdo

Hey lovies! I just wanted to show you guys my new hairdo. I got this done last August 22 in Bench's Fix Salon in Trinoma. I went from long wavy and, in my opinion, sexy hair to a full bangs shoulder length hair.

I'm kinda loving it but also think it's sort of a hassle to maintain. I have to constantly look at a mirror and make sure that it's still a full bang and not parted in the middle or what-not.

Although, I think my hair being naturally wavy is a perk since it's gives my hair this effortless pizaass. Or maybe that's just me and my overly high confidence in myself. Hahaha! I'll also take this opportunity to polish my blow drying skills as well as my hair styling skills to keep my 'do presentable.

I think I'll show you guys how my hair looks like when it's not wet. Consider this as a little teaser to my next post. Also, forgive my derpy look in this photo. I didn't even know that I had such big eye bags. It's so huge and puffy. Do you guys know a trick to hide or lessen the bags under my eyes?
