The chocolate abs are mighty fine! I'll stop gushing and let you enjoy this. Gonna replay it for the 5th time. Hahahah! Cheers ladies! Thanks Cosmo PH!

Bourne Legacy Screening

Hey lovies! This is a really late post but I still wanted to post it. You guys might not know this but, I won a contest earlier this month and the prize was 2 tickets to a Bourne Legacy screening sponsored by Mandaue Foam and Nuffnang Philippines. So, let me take this moment to thank Mandaue Foam and Nuffnang Philippines although it's already late. Thanks Mandaue Foam and Nuffnang PH!

We took these shots during a bright and sunny Saturday. It was just after the terrible flood that happened in Luzon and we actually almost didn't go to the screening. Good thing Nuffnang moved the date by a day or else, we'd be taking photos under dark skies. Not to mention, my mom might have not agreed on letting me go to the screening. She's very particular with that, as you know.

I really have to thank Jac of Vogue Esprit as well. She's the one that owns the camera we used to take our outfit photos and not to mention she's always game for things like this. It's actually nice to have someone that's into blogging like me in things like these. I think one problem I have when it comes to taking my outfit posts is that I don't have anyone to take the photos for me.

Okay, I think what I said is a bit of an over reaction but it's semi true. I like my photos to look good or at least not blurred. Maybe it's just me. I usually ask my mom or our helper to take photos of me but it's with a camera phone or out Canon G9. It's slightly killing my blog but hey, at least it's working right? As far as I know, you guys don't mind my blog's photo qualities right? Hahaha!

I think I'll end my post here. I don't know what more I can write about. Actually, this post was just an excuse for me to show you guys these photos. Hahaha! So sorry. Do expect a movie review soon. I'm going to make a movie review for Bourne Legacy and for Dark Knight Rises since I watched it recently with my parents. I know, I'm super late on the reviews and what-not but... I don't really care. Hahaha!

Travel Essentials with The Doctor

Hey lovies! If you've seen some of my previous posts then I'm pretty sure that you know Brennan, my guest blogger. She is one of the most lovely person I've met online and I'm very blessed she's gracing my blog with her fabulous posts geared on her love, as well as mine, for Doctor Who.

I will not consider you as my reader if you don't know my love for Doctor Who. I will not acknowledge your existence if you haven't heard of Doctor Who before, I refuse. Hahaha! I'm kidding. I love all of you. Even if you don't know Doctor Who, Sherlock, or even Touch, I will still love you because you're one of my readers. You know I am very thankful for you guys. You make me life worthwhile and you guys helped me venture out of my comfort zone and now I'm getting closer to my ideal life.

I'll stop blabbering now. Enjoy Brennan's post on what to wear when you're with the Doctor!

So you've finally had the chance to run away with the doctor but have just discovered you're going back 500 years in time and realize that your Native American inspired crop top and high-wasted cutoff shorts just aren't going to cut it.

So what do you do?

You thank your lucky stars that you read this article and packed exactly what I told you to. That's what.

Mid-length Dress & Petticoat: Petticoats are perfect for time travelers because they pretty much fit in anywhere. Renaissance Italy, Baroque England, The Wild American West, no one will bat an eye.

Cloak: Again, are you a medieval merchant or a Victorian servent? I can't tell because they all wear cloaks.

Mary-Janes: The rougher around the edges, the better. Sturdy heels are perfect for running away from werewolves and other aliens. Keep your footwear to the ankle and your toes covered. Unless you're in Ancient Jerusalem, in that case get yourself to the market and buy some fierce gladiator sandals.

Pocket Watch: Because they are really cool, obviously.

Retro Doctor

“There are worlds out there where the skies are burning,
where the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream.
People made of smoke, and cities made of song.

Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice...

and somewhere else the tea is getting cold.
Come on Ace...we've got work to do!”

Hope you enjoyed that guys! Leave something down below. What would you consider as an essential outfit or piece of clothing when you're time travelling with The Doctor? I'm really curious!

Lady Lavender {08.11.2012}

Hello lovies! It's been a long time since I've posted anything that's not considered as a blah post. This outfit post is actually a very long overdue post. I think I should have posted this around two weeks ago? I just couldn't get myself into the mood of editing the photos and not to mention Google+ on my laptop was bitching. Any who, I'll get on with the post.

Blazer/Elle. Dress/Sewn with Love. Tube Top/H&M. Shoes/S&H. Accessories/Bazaars + Romwe.
I wore this outfit on a movie date with Jac of Vogue Esprit. Well, it's not actually a date since we didn't pay for our tickets but you get the point. If you've read my older posts, you'd know that I won Mandaue Foam's contest on Nuffnang Philippines for the Bourne Legacy screening. This was my outfit for the screening.

I think my general thought when I was choosing what to wear the day before was that I was going to an event so I wanted to look good but I also considered that I'll be watching a movie so I'll probably need something to keep me warm. So, with those things considered, I chose to wear this little ensemble. It looks good on me, it's girly but comfy, and the blazer I wore kept me warm for the whole movie.

I think what makes a look interesting are the small details and little quirks here and there. I'm particularly fond of this blazer that I bought during an international bazaar at PICC a few years back. If my memory serves me right, I bought this in the Korea booth for only 300 pesos (or around 8USD). What I love about this blazer is that it has this stripe details underneath that when I roll up the blazer's sleeves it makes a very interesting piece.

Here's a closer look of the sleeve. Nice right? It's made out of silk or satin cloth, I'm not really sure, so it's really soft and eye-catching. Plus, the design is simple yet very stylish. I am just totally in love with this little detail. I think it's one of my most abused blazer, actually it's my only blazer, yet. I think I need to invest more on blazers. Don't you think?

Another lovely detail that I love on this look is this crochet upper detailing of the dress. I would love to wear this dress with no cover-up or tube top underneath but I'm just not confident enough. Not yet, at least. I am absolutely smitten with it's simplicity and femininity that I just can't help myself but to feel good about myself. I think that's one perk of having clothes that look good on you, it boosts your confidence ten-folds sometimes even hundreds!

As for my shoes, I chose to use these cute brogues that my cousin bought from S&H during the SuperSale Bazaar last year. I bought a similar pair but with a different color. I decided to ask my cousin to let me borrow it since she hasn't used it yet. I know, it's already a year and she still hasn't used it. It's crazy right? I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from using a shoe that I bought recently or what-not. Hahaha!

Accessories, accessories, accessories. What will I do without you? I am absolutely crazy for accessories. I remember before I used to hate wearing accessories because it felt so bothersome but now, I'm crazy over them. I just can't have enough of them. For Christmas, I'll definitely ask for some accessories from my aunts and maybe some shoes as well. Hahaha!

That's it for me! Do hype this look, here.

Hey lovies! I've been out most of the week and I haven't been posting much but I'm so pleased to tell you guys that I've actually made a very good choice yesterday. As you can see above, I posted a deal from Groupon Philippines and I'm really excited to tell you that I actually bought this deal! I know it sounded a little petty but let me just explain why I'm so excited for a little boxing session coupon...

What I'm actually very excited about is that I've finally bought something from my own money online and it's not something that is impractical like a new accessory or some add-on for a game. I actually bought something that will not only help me get in shape but also something that I've been wanting to buy for a long time. If you guys didn't know, I really want to learn or start boxing and it's been a great frustration for me whenever I see deals that offer a great discount at this certain gym. Before, I used to look at the coupon and ask my mum to buy it for me but now that I actually have money in my PayPal account, all thanks to this lovely blog, I just asked my mum for permission and when she said yes, I bought it!

I'm really excited to use my 10 one-on-one boxing sessions at Elorde Gym-Commonwealth. If you guys are from the area and want to try out boxing, I really recommend buying the coupon. Even if it's just one coupon, you should buy one just to experience it. Also, I need a boxing buddy. Hahaha! If ever you're boxing in that area, do leave me a message so we can meet! I'd love to meet one of my readers, although I know most of you are from another country. Hahaha!

I think that's it for me. I'll be coming back later or tomorrow for an outfit post. :)

The Hottest Styles in Men’s Swimwear

When it comes to swimwear, it is women who are usually expected to spend hours and hours wandering around the different department stores, shops and swimwear boutiques, meticulously pondering over what will look the best when they step onto the sand! This may be very true but we'd be naïve in thinking that it was solely women who dedicated a lot of time and effort in to deciding on what item of swimwear to take on holiday.

Of course, men want to make sure they look their best when lounging on a beach and this means looking at the hottest swimwear styles.

Board shorts
Board shorts are loose and comfortable and are proving to be a popular style of mens swimwear this year. Typically made out of spandex, board shorts stretch with the often demanding moves which diving in the pool and swimming in the sea put on swimming garments.

This year, men’s board shorts are available in many different shades, with three of the top shades being neon yellow, lime green and bright red – in other words, be bold and be daring!

Trunks are essentially for two types of men; those who prefer the more inconspicuous and less revealing style of swimwear and those who love to strut their stuff.

If you or your man is of the latter persuasion then good news, as trunks are certainly in fashion this summer! In an aesthetical sense 2012 men’s trunks are available in many different shades, although darker colours, such as navy blue, black and dark grey, seem to be taking centre stage.

Alongside their strong style credentials, trunks are also highly practical. Being made out of a stretchy material, trunks provide a comfortable choice of swimwear and will move with each swimming stroke. Asides from being smooth and flexible, trunks dry much quicker than cotton swimwear equivalents and are a great addition to any summer wardrobe.

Boxers are not just confined to a style of men’s underwear and 2012 is seeing a revival of the swim boxers. This stylish type of men’s swimwear, typically lie mid-way down the thigh, creating chic and mature look.

This season swim boxers are available in many different patterns and shades, ranging from plain white and plain navy to bolder stripes and patterns in a multitude of colours.

A Little Life Update

Hey lovies! I haven't been here for a long time, around a week, and I'm really sorry for the lack of posts. I've been all over the place the past few days and I just couldn't fit blogging in my schedule. I'm hoping all of you are doing great and you're still here. I also noticed some new followers on GFC, ola mi amigos/amigas! I'm glad you've followed my blog. I'm very thankful for your love and support on my blog. I really am sorry for not updating much, I promise you though that I'll be having tons of uploads on the next few days. I'll be blogging about the past week.

I'm actually in a rush right now so I'll make this quick. It's a quickie post. Hahaha! I'm off to CSB, my new school, and I'll be confirming my transfer there. I'll be going with my mom and after our trip to CSB, we might go to my local government office to register as a voter since elections is near. Anyway, I think that's that. Do expect to see an outfit post, movie reviews, event review and a little life update in the coming days. Gotta go for now! Oh, and if you're curious, that's a photo of me and my new hair. I won't show it to you yet, unless you follow me on Twitter, and do a post about that as well. Gonna tip my hat to you guys for now. xx

Behind The Monitor: Jessica Tuong

Hey lovies! My very first interview/feature post on this blog. I'm quite excited. If you've seen my previous post/teaser of this new segment on my blog then you probably know who I'll be interviewing.

She's a 20-something finance/law student by day, fashion blogger at breaks and a total fashionista from Vietnam but now lives in Australia. She's got the brain, the style and the personality to match! I'd dare say she's quite perfect. Although she's new to the whole blogging scene, (she started her blog this June) she's already getting noticed by brands like The Iconic, getting hundreds of followers in her blog and not to mention the hypes she has on her Lookbook!

I won't make this a long introduction.
I'm very happy and quite proud to give you my very
first featured blogger, Jessica Tuong of Mind, Body, Shop.

First, introduce yourself. Who is Jessica Tuong?
"I am a 23 year old finance/law student, completing my final year of university.
I am still figuring out my future, enjoying life and always bargain hunting."

What made you start blogging or why did you start blogging?
"My shopping addiction! It helps with my buyer’s remorse! Haha.
But mainly I began blogging in order to connect with other lovers of fashion
and to find and improve on my own personal style."

How do you choose the looks or the outfits you post on your blog?
"I am always shopping, so I usually find one stand out piece
that I fall absolutely in love with, and then I plan the outfit around that.
I am also a colour junkie, so even if the clothes are a neutral
I will almost always brighten it up with splashes of colour."

If you were to describe your personal style in 3 words, what words would it be and why?
"I would describe my personal style as Classic, Girly and a little bit edgy.
This is because I am a girly girl at heart and I love clothing which
I can hold on to and re-wear for years."

What fashion trend do you think we’d never see you sport? Why?
"Probably the brightly coloured hair trend that’s going on right now!
Not that I don’t love it – on some girls it looks amazing.
But “I” could never pull that off!"

Although Jessica's answer to the last question  is a bit hard to believe since I can totally see her fashioning an ombre style hair with pink or blue tips, I'll just keep my mouth shut. Hahaha! That's the "basic" stuff I wanted to ask Jessica and it's safe to say that we got a little two cents of who she is and what we can see in her blog. Now I asked Jessica a few more questions...

Take Me Away, Doctor!

Hey lovies! If you've read my previous post then you probably know that I have a guest post coming soon. Well, it's coming sooner that you think. I was actually very surprised with my guest blogger's fast response and draft since I know it's difficult to align different time zones. Anyway, I'm very pleased to present to you guys a post from Brennan, my guest blogger and fellow Whovian.

Have you guessed what type of post this will be? Yep. I think you know. The title's a giveaway! Hahaha! Yep. It's a Doctor Who related post! I won't blabber on too much and let you guys read the post Brennan made for you lovely ladies out there that are in love with the Doctor as much as Brennan and I.

If you're as obsessed with Dr. Who as Renee and I are, you've asked yourself this question many times before:

If I ran away with the Doctor today, what would I wear?

The answer is different for every person but here are a few pointers,
just to make sure all your bases are covered:

Layered Tops: This is the number one key to dressing for the Tardis. Heavens knows when you'll be back so you need as many options as possible. I chose a thin but sturdy top from Carlos Miele, a rugged denim jacket, and of course a cozy waterproof Burberry coat because might as well go designer.

Adventure Pants: Just like layers, you gotta pack on the pockets. But if any of you try to wear cargo pants, so help me Rory, the Doctor will leave your unfashionable behind faster than a weeping angel can kill you.

Practical Footwear: Steel-toed preferably. Sadly the shoes need to be practical rather than pretty. What for all the Ood-kicking. You need something that gives you ankle and arch support. Just say a prayer that there's a pair of stilettos somewhere on the Tardis to wear on your off days.

Jewelry as Weaponry: You might as well kill two birds with one stone: look stylish and pack a punch. Make sure to bring your brass knuckles.

Adventure Doctor

Horseback riding with Braveheart
Furniture shopping in Ancient Egypt
A pint at the pub with Shakespeare

Where would you go with your Doctor?

I really have to say. I quite agree with Brennan's take on what we Whovians should wear when the Doctor comes to take us away to the Tardis and begin our travels with him as a companion. I know you girls have imagined it, watching the nebula with the Doctor in the Tardis reminiscing about Rose, Sarah Jane, and even his granddaughter. Well, I know I have. This post from Brennan actually inspired me to make a 'runaway with the doctor' inspired post. I think I'll show it to you guys sometime in the near future. ;)

As for now, I gots to go yo. Allonsy!

Nominated for Versatile Blogger Award

Hey lovies! When I woke up this morning I just knew it was going to be a great day due to the sun's reappearance after almost a week of heavy rain, and the delicious breakfast I ate this morning. What I didn't realize was that it was going to be better once I'm on the net. I opened my laptop, read my e-mail and got a very exciting mail from a guest blogger for a future post we'll be making, and now I saw on one of my comments that I was nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award.

This is the very first nomination, for any kind of award, I have gotten with this blog and I'm really thankful to the lovely Lauren Whitmore of Running In Heels for nominating me. Seriously Lauren, thank you. It came to me as a surprise and as a little affirmation that I'm actually doing something right with my blog. My heart's so full right now, I think it's going to burst. I'm not kidding. I'm just too happy. Hahaha!

Anyway, here's the rules.

Newsletters: It's Time For Fall

Hey lovies! I am admitting this to you now that I'm crazy over e-mail newsletter and e-mail blasts. I look forward to e-mail blasts from shops and some of the blogs that I follow. I especially love it when they're sending newsletters about sales and new collections from top to indie designers. So, I decided that maybe I should share with you guys some of my favorite finds in my jumble of e-mail newsletters.

Here are some of my favorite from Diane von Furstengerg's Fall collection that I've seen on courtesy of an e-mail newsletter that I've recieved from PopSugar.

Now on an edgier note, here's my favorites from the Fall collection of a British brand, AllSaints.
Now an assortment of lovely Pre-Fall collection from Rebecca Minkoff that I'm dying to own.
And to sum up this little Fall post, I'll top it off with Rebecca Taylor's Pre-Fall and Fall collection faves.

So, what do you think you'd most likely to sport this Fall? I am totally feeling the edgier clothes of AllSaints but I am also loving Rebecca Taylor's Fall collection. Although I'm a total prude when it comes to money and I hate buying clothes on it's full price, I'd definitely want to buy something from Rebecca Minkoff's collection. How about you, what's your favorite collection for fall so far? :)
