Pescetarian Living: Day 1

Today, I started my journey as a Pescetarian. I decided that I'll be eating only vegetables, fruits, grains, and seafood. I won't be eating chicken or any sort of poultry, pork, and beef or any type of red meat. I know this will be very hard for me since I love eating beef and my parents are not Pescetarian. I have to discipline myself into eating the things that I am allowed to eat. If you guys don't know, I decided to live a healthy life because of the way of living that I want to take. I decided to become a Buddhist and although the ideology does not restrict me from eating meat, I chose to be a Pescetarian.

2012 Academy Awards

The Academy Awards is here and you know what that means? It means it's the time for actors and actresses to put on their best tuxes and dresses. It's that time of the year where the fashionistas around the globe watch live streaming or even replays to know who wore the best dress, the worst dress and the most bazaar dresses out there. But we all know what this award giving body is all about, it's about giving credit to those films that are simply, magnificent.

Song of the Day: Goodnight Kiss by The Prize Fight

This song brings me back to my high school days. This was the first song that moved me to tears when a classmate of mine sang it. I was both shocked and warmed by the thought of that moment. I'll be leaving this song here for you guys and I hope that you'll like it because I love it. Ever since that day, I never got this song out of my mind. For those of you who know this story of mine, keep quiet. I don't want you guys blabbering about my high school life and all that nonsense. Hahaha! I'm kidding.

Anyway, I really have a deep connection with this song since the first time I heard it was special. I hope you guys have a song that's magical to you and a song that you'll never forget. If you do have a song like that, why not share it down below. I wanna hear your stories and not to mention the songs you guys love. So, comment below or maybe send me an e-mail if you want it more personal. E-MAIL SENT!

Temples, History & An Exhausting Day

Yesterday, I went to a class field trip with my friend, Sophia, for our class in The History of Civilization. We went to 3 religious temples, a museum and ate at a delicious Thai restaurant for our lunch break in Mall of Asia. I was actually looking forward to this trip since I do love visiting temples and just the general, exploration of the different cultures not only here in the Philippines but also abroad. The temples that we visited were the Hindu temple, the Buddhist temple and the Sikh temple, all in order of what we visited first. My most anticipated temple visit was to the Buddhist temple but I won't be telling you guys why I've been anticipating on going to a Buddhist temple. Not yet anyways.

I'll be blogging about the field trip in this blog post and the temples' different feel, teachings and my opinions about them on another blog post and then I'll make another blog post for our lunch in a Thai restaurant called Jatujak in Mall of Asia. I decided that this would be better than a very long post that would make you guys hate me. Hahaha! So, let's start with my story about this field trip.

Inspiration Trunk: The Pretty Reckless

When can we truly say that we are absolutely free?
When can we genuinely say no one controls our actions & words?
When can be possibly say that we don't give a damn about their opinions?

The band, The Pretty Reckless, inspired me so much today that I'm making a post about them and specially their vocals, Taylor Momsen. You might know her from the top rating series Gossip Girl as the mischievous and somewhat misunderstood, Jenny Humphrey. Or in the old Christmas movie favorite, The Grinch, as Cindy Lou Who. Not a lot of people like her style or the way she's living her life and yet she still carries on. She holds her head up high and doesn't give a fuck about what people say.

Song of the Day: Lovely Day by Bill Withers

Good day lovely readers!

It's a rainy morning here in the Philippines but I can't help but feel that this morning is still lovely. I am not a morning person but I do love the thought that when morning comes, it's a new day. With a new day, we can work our butts off, enjoy the presence of our friends and feel the warmth of those that love us. I'm just gonna leave Bill Withers' song, Lovely Day, here in my blog. I hope you guys will have a lovely day and don't let those haters, naggers and just everyday downers get to you!

Leave me a little loving and I'll give you a lot of loving. ♥
With much love,

Haunted Hall 3

Haunted Hall 3, a presentation of horrifying scenes by DLSU's Harlequin Theater Guild, is a yearly event that almost every La Sallian attends. It's a haunted house of sorts like in amusement parks or in our case a haunted hallway. HTG lets us experience an eerie setting with demented souls roaming around following your every move and lost souls that are waiting for you in corners you won't expect.

A Week of Cheers, Jeers and Tears

This week my school's University week had just ended and I'm having mixed emotions. It started out as a great week and ended in a stalemate. I was actually excited for this year's University week since it'll be my last University week and I wanted to do experience everything that I can possibly experience. I'm a hopeful graduate in 2013 and I don't think I'll be able to celebrate in DLSU once I start working. I'm aiming to graduate by February 2013, if that day would even come, and I'll be a busy body by that time. I won't have time to go to the University week and just enjoy it. It won't be the same.

I have a lot of regrets and some of those regrets I don't think I'll ever erase in my heart. I know, it sounds cheesy and stupid since it's just a University week. How awesome can a small university celebration be? I guess it's not the celebration per say that I'm aiming for but the experience I'll get out of it. I think that's been my aim since I was a kid. I wanted to experience so many things but I was unable to do them. Taekwando, ballet, being a varsity student, theater, and generally speaking a life I've always wanted to live. I never had that privilege. I always lived under a certain standard and limit that I cannot push past.
Fireworks in DLSU by Andrew Pamorada
I live in a life that should always follow rules and limits that sometimes I can't understand but always follow. I tried fighting it, I tried feigning ignorance but I can never avoid or defeat it. I'll always be subjected under this limit and I can never escape. I can't escape not because I haven't tried but I just can't. I can't bear the thought of undergoing it's consequences and truthfully, I'm afraid of it's consequences. So, at the end of this week I reflected and found out that I quit. I give up. I can't fight anymore. I can never win against this limit. Not in this time at least.

Saturday Night Fever

Last Saturday night, 11 February 2012, my grandmother celebrated her 70th birthday with a bang. After months of preparation and secrets, we finally got the best gift for my grandma and that's to give her a birthday party she didn't expect with an attendance of all the people that matters in her life. I'm really proud to say that her birthday party was a memorable one. We danced, danced and danced some more 'till the clock hits midnight. I've never seen my grandma this happy and I mean genuinely happy.

Incoming Projects, Updates & Some Love!

Hello dears!

Today was a rainy, romantic and totally bed weather type of season. I can't believe it'll be like this in February. I thought February was only the time of chilling days and lonely cold nights for those who are single. Yet, here I am totally comfortable and happy with my life. I can't even believe it. I'm too happy with the companionship of my friends to even care about the "Love Month".

Anyway, I just wanted to update you guys on some of the developments in my life and why I am happy with my life right now. The photo above was taken during our lunch break in the amphitheater of my school. I didn't know that there was an event there called, The Art of Cosplay. I am actually a fan of cosplaying although I don't cosplay myself, I do appreciate the cosplayers' efforts. And, being a fan of animes and mangas is also a plus factor on why I like cosplay.

I really love Iron Man's costume. It looked very real and the person himself even looks like Tony Stark with the facial hair and all. I even got a picture with the whole Avengers gang. I was so happy and not to mention that the University Week in DLSU has begun. It's a week long celebration, bazaars and activities for the whole La Sallian community. I am very excited but at the same time wary because UWeek only means one thing, I'll be broke for the whole week. How sad is that? Hahaha! Woes of the poor.

Enough of that, I actually want to tell you guys about this amazing thing that I'll be doing for my friends. I'm actually going to make my friend's blog layout. I'll be helping her set up her blog and do some minor tweaks here and there to make it personalized. If you're intrigued on what type of blog she'll make, you just have to stay tuned on my updates. Hahaha! Also, I'll be helping another friend make a website for his shop. Nothing too major or complicated since I'm not that good yet. But I'm really happy to help them and not to mention it would also look good in my resume if I added there, I made a website for a shop.

I'll end this post here and save you guys the boring chit-chat and blabbing that's about to happen. I just can't stop typing. I'm so full of ideas and things on my mind right now I don't even know where it comes from. So, bye for now and thank you again for reaching my 10,000 hits mark! :)

Leave me a little loving and I'll give you a lot of loving. ♥

Quick Blog: Up in the Sky

Hello loves! Just a quick blog to tell you guys where I am now. I'll give you some hints. It involves flying vehicles, noisy engines and colorful balloons. Im not in Manila but I'm in Luzon. The food is good in this area but the dialect is hard to understand. Can you guess where I am? Yep. I'm in Pampanga for the Hot Air Balloon Festival! I actually didn't expect to be here today since we were in a party yesterday and we got back home at around 12pm. It's so cool here in Clark. The breeze is fresh and very cold, the scenery is refreshing to the eye and I'm really feeling good. Anyway, I'll end my post here. I'll do a photoblog later or tomorrow. :)

Song of the Day: Collide by Howie Day

That's one of my favorite lines in the song by Howie Day, Collide. I remember listening to this song when I was younger and up till now, I still listen to this song and love it. It's one of those songs that you'll never get tired of listening and it doesn't go out of time since the message it conveys is relevant up to the present. It's not a novelty song that people get bored of after a few times. It's not the very underground songs out there that's just impossible to understand or even say. It's the right amount of everything. The melody, the rhythm, the lyrics is just right for your ears.

Whenever I hear this song I get hope and faith. You might ask me why, and I'll tell you that it's because of that line I said on the top of this post. The line: Even the best fall down sometimes... makes me think about my life and realize that what I'm going through is something that will pass. It's not the end of the road when you hit rock bottom. It's just a cycle. Every thing will be fine and every one has hit rock bottom. No one can avoid rock bottom but it's only a few people that will push themselves of the ground, stand tall and climb the top.

When I'm listening to this song, it makes me want to work harder and be better. It also makes me think about love, since it is a song about love, but a difficult kind of love. A love that draws two different types of people and collides them, making one entity. I guess it's the romantic in me that gives meaning in everything but I really love this song's message. Anyway, I hope you guys like my song of the day. Happy listening! Enjoy!

Reaching 10,000 Hits Mark

Hello lovely lovely readers!

Today is a spectacular day for me. I started the day slow by waking up at around 11:30AM but then my day started picking up it's pace at around 2:30PM or so. All of us were actually very busy today since it's my grandmother's birthday. She turned 70 years old today and she's as lively as ever. I love my grandma so much. She's a cool grandma. Anyway, that's really a different topic and I want to elaborate more on her birthday bash in another post.

What I really wanted to talk about in this post is my gratitude to you guys. Yes, you're reading this right. I want to say thank you to all of my readers, even if you're just a passerby or you're a constant reader of my blog. I want to say thank you. I've just reached my 10,000 hits mark today and it feels good to know that 10,000 browsers/tabs had opened my website and read at least the title or some of the contents of my blog. I really didn't expect to reach 10,000 this fast. So, I really really really want to say thank you. I love you guys. You don't even know how much. :)

Here's for every thousand that visited my blog. I love you guys. Thanks!

Leave me a little loving and I'll leave you a lot of loving.

Good Vibes Friday

Hello loves!

I haven't posted anything here for quite some time now and I really missed you guys. Today's Friday here in the Philippines and I decided to do some shoe shopping for my grandmother's birthday celebration tomorrow. I went to Robinson's Manila in Malate with my friends, Airiz and Janine, to look at some of the stores there and maybe find a pair I can buy and use at the party. It was so tiring but very fun as well. We went through every shoe store possible, or that I can afford, and we found this baby.

I can't give you guys a closer picture of the shoe 'cos I haven't taken a picture of it yet and my camera's a bit fuzzy today. Hahaha! I'll just do a separate post about my shoes or the event itself in another time. I'm really excited about my grandma's birthday tomorrow since it's gonna be a big one. Anyway, I'll be off for now.

Inspiration Trunk: Escape

We as human beings find it hard to live life the way we want it to be due to obligations and responsibilities. It's hard to break away from the norm and be yourself, your true self. I know you guys have read my post about freedom but I think I did the sequence wrong. Before you can truly be free, you must first escape. Escape those who judge, belittle and pull you down. Being free is being able to let go of everything and finally escape the world. Don't take this literally though. I'm not talking about killing yourself so that you'll be able to escape. What I'm saying is that you need to have a little guts and some balls to be able to escape from the world you hate.

JMovie: 10 Promises To My Dog

10 Promises To My Dog, that's the title of the movie that I recently watched in YouTube and I have to say that it was the most heartwarming and realistic movie that I have ever watched. I think it was the pet-owner in me that related well with this movie or maybe because my dog is a Labrador-German shepherd mix and it it kind of looks like the dog here but he's black. I don't really know. All I know is that it could be compared to the movie Marley & Me or maybe Hachiko but it has its own flair to it.

The movie makes you see how a pet owner can love and sometimes forget about their pet. It's a story of friendship and love that no human being can give, the loyalty that can only be found with man's best friend. Maybe I'm a little biased, maybe I'm just a cry baby but this movie can really make your heart melt and make you cry a gallon of tears. I was literally shattered by the end of the movie and I had to hug my dog for a while to make me feel better again. So, what is 10 Promises To My Dog really about? You can watch the trailer by clicking...
